Method to represent a rational number on the number line:
To represent a positive proper rational number, we divide the interval [0.1] into as many parts as the given number in the denominator of the fraction. Then, numerator of the fraction tells which part represent the fraction.
Similarly, for an improper rational number, we first convert the fraction into a mixed fraction. The whole part of the mixed fraction indicates to the attached interval where the fraction lies. Now, we do as we did in case of proper rational numbers.
